The Meal Barrel Project

The Meal Barrel Project is a nonprofit food pantry serving Colbert County, Alabama that provides fresh produce, canned goods, bread, and hygiene kits to families in need. Founded by Director Penny Freeman, the organization operates from the former Cherokee Middle School building and serves hundreds of families weekly, with the mission of ending hunger and helping community members access essential resources.
