Wiregrass Area Food Bank

Wiregrass Area Food Bank is a nonprofit hunger relief organization founded in 1990 that solicits and distributes surplus food and grocery products to agencies serving the needy in a six-county area of Southeast Alabama including Houston, Henry, Dale, Geneva, Coffee, and Barbour counties. The organization operates as an affiliate of Feeding America and provides food assistance at no cost to recipients through its network of partner agencies that include food pantries, shelters, soup kitchens, and community service organizations. As an independent nonprofit with paid staff, volunteers, and a board of directors, the Food Bank ensures that donated food is never sold and that all assistance is provided free to those in need.
