Food Bank of North Alabama

The Food Bank of North Alabama, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Huntsville, was founded in 1984 by a group of volunteers committed to combating hunger in the region. The organization supplies millions of pounds of food annually to a network of over 250 partner agencies including food pantries, shelters, and children's programs across 11 counties in North Alabama, serving over 100,000 people in need. Beyond immediate hunger relief, the Food Bank addresses root causes of hunger through local food initiatives that support entrepreneurship, strengthen the local food system, and increase access to healthy food choices.
