Fairbanks Community Food Bank
About
The Fairbanks Community Food Bank, founded in 1982, is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that collects surplus food from local grocery stores, food drives, and approximately 100 commercial vendors to redistribute to food-insecure individuals and agencies throughout Interior Alaska. The organization operates without charging recipients for assistance and distributes food through multiple programs including emergency food boxes, the Bone Builders program, FOOD IS MEDICINE for medically referred patients, and agency shopping for nonprofit partners. Serving the Fairbanks community for over four decades, the food bank aims to address hunger while reducing food waste in the region.
