Food Pantry Of Wasilla at The MatSu Food Bank

The Food Pantry of Wasilla at The MatSu Food Bank is a nonprofit organization dedicated to eliminating hunger and providing emergency food assistance to residents of the Mat-Su Valley. Founded in 1984 as the Wasilla Food Pantry by Betty White, the organization has grown into a comprehensive food security resource that serves approximately 2,500 people monthly through direct distribution and partnerships with numerous community agencies. Operating with volunteer staff and minimal paid employees, the MatSu Food Bank distributed over 2.3 million pounds of food in 2025 while maintaining its commitment to providing assistance with dignity and compassion to those experiencing food insecurity.
