Service Center For Independent Life

Service Center for Independent Life is a nonprofit organization established in 1980 by Claremont residents with disabilities to empower people with disabilities and seniors in their quest for greater personal independence. Based in Claremont, California, SCIL provides free services including advocacy, assistive technology assistance, peer counseling, personal care assistant referrals, youth transition services, and disability athletics programs to residents throughout the Pomona and East San Gabriel Valley areas. The organization is led by staff and board members, many of whom have disabilities themselves, bringing firsthand understanding to the needs of the community it serves.
