Lake Merritt United Methodist Church – Food Distribution Center

Lake Merritt United Methodist Church operates a food distribution program serving Oakland and Alameda County residents in need. The ministry provides free fresh produce and shelf-stable groceries through a client-choice distribution model, allowing individuals to select foods rather than receive pre-filled bags, alongside complementary hot meal programs. With over 35 years of service to the community, Lake Merritt UMC partners with the Alameda County Food Bank to distribute hundreds of bags monthly while engaging youth and community volunteers in their mission.
