Lighthouse Food Rescue and Distribution

Lighthouse Food Rescue & Distribution is a nonprofit organization based in San Jose that collects surplus food from local businesses and redistributes it to those in need, with a mission to reduce food waste and address food insecurity in the community. Founded during the COVID-19 pandemic, the organization operates a free farmers market model and partners with local grocery stores and community organizations to serve thousands of residents each month, particularly focusing on the underhoused, elderly, and northside community members.
