Second Harvest of Silicon Valley

Founded in 1974, Second Harvest of Silicon Valley is a nonprofit organization serving as one of the largest food banks in the nation. Based in San Jose with additional operations in San Carlos, the organization distributes nutritious food to more than a quarter of a million people monthly across Santa Clara and San Mateo counties through a network of over 900 nonprofit partners at more than 985 distribution sites. More than half of those served are children and seniors, and Second Harvest is known for providing more fresh produce than most food banks nationwide while also offering CalFresh outreach, nutrition education, and a mobile pantry program that brings food to underserved neighborhoods.
