Grey Bears – Food Distribution Center

Grey Bears is a nonprofit organization that has served Santa Cruz County seniors for over 50 years, beginning in 1973 with a simple act of sharing garden produce with senior neighbors. The organization improves health and well-being through food distribution, volunteer opportunities, resource conservation and recycling, delivering over two million meals annually to more than 4,000 senior households, families, veterans and farmworkers through its award-winning Healthy Food Program. Grey Bears operates on four acres in Santa Cruz and supplements gleaned food from local farms, markets and food banks with proceeds from its recycling centers and thrift store, supported by hundreds of community volunteers.
