The organization delivers fresh, hot meals and provides social contact to food-insecure, isolated seniors age 60 and older throughout Yolo County, currently serving approximately 1,200 seniors with both home-delivered and congregate dining options. With roots dating back to 1975, Meals on Wheels Yolo County is the only fully-prepared meal provider for vulnerable seniors in the county, emphasizing community engagement and employing a robust volunteer network to bridge meals, companionship, and care to isolated elderly residents.
