Denver Food Rescue
About
Denver Food Rescue is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in 2012 dedicated to advancing health equity in Denver by rescuing surplus fresh food from grocery stores and farms and redistributing it to communities lacking access to nutritious food. The organization operates no-cost grocery programs and delivers fresh produce boxes to hundreds of Denver families monthly, with a focus on addressing food deserts and supporting low-income neighborhoods. In 2023, Denver Food Rescue recovered over 625,000 pounds of fresh food and was recognized as Small Nonprofit of the Year by the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce in 2024.
