Homestead Community Kitchen

The Homestead Soup Kitchen is a 501(c)3 nonprofit that has been serving the greater Homestead and Florida City area since 1983, providing free hot meals to anyone in need without requiring identification or asking questions. Staffed entirely by dedicated volunteers, the organization has distributed more than 600,000 meals over its history, with over 48,000 meals served in 2024 alone. The soup kitchen welcomes individuals facing food insecurity including the elderly, unemployed, underemployed, migrants, and those experiencing homelessness.
