Sarah’s Kitchen – First United Methodist Church

Sarah's Kitchen is an interfaith soup kitchen operated as a service of Mustard Seed Ministries, with a mission to welcome and provide hot nutritious meals to those in the community who are hungry and struggling financially. Founded in 2009 during the recession by spiritually motivated clergy and laity from seven congregations, the program has expanded to five feeding sites across St. Lucie County, serving over 1,000 hot meals weekly to vulnerable populations including the working poor, seniors, homeless individuals, and families living below the poverty line. All staff members are volunteers, and the organization is supported by representatives from twenty-nine congregations on its advisory board.
