Food Bank of Northeast Georgia

Founded in 1992, the Food Bank of Northeast Georgia is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to addressing hunger and food insecurity across 15 counties in northeast Georgia. Based in Athens, the organization gathers donated and purchased food from local, regional, state, and national sources, then distributes it through partnerships with over 230 member organizations including human-service agencies, educational institutions, and faith-based organizations. In June 2024, the Food Bank opened a new 63,000-square-foot facility on 37 acres in Athens, significantly expanding its capacity to serve the region's food-insecure neighbors.
