UNG Food Pantry at Historic Vickery House

The UNG Food Pantry at Historic Vickery House, operated by the University of North Georgia's Appalachian Studies Center, opened in 2016 to provide non-perishable food items and basic supplies to students, staff, and faculty. The pantry operates on a supermarket model and is funded through donations and fundraising events rather than university funds. The food pantry also partners with the Hometown Harvest program, a community collaboration that grows fresh produce for the pantry and local schools while celebrating Appalachian gardening traditions.
