St. Barbara Pastoral Care

St. Barbara Pastoral Care is a Catholic pastoral care ministry based in Brookfield, Illinois, that was founded in 1980 by Sister Margaret Halligan to address community food insecurity. As an agency of the Archdiocese of Chicago, the organization operates a food pantry and provides emergency meals, supplemental food assistance, medical lending services, and seasonal food baskets to families, with particular focus on expectant mothers, children, infants, and seniors. The Pastoral Care ministry coordinates community outreach programs including an “Adopt a Child for Christmas” program and works with local partners to ensure families have access to fresh groceries, school supplies, clothing, and produce.
