Carbondale Warming Center

Carbondale Warming Center is a nonprofit emergency shelter located at 608 East College Street in Carbondale, Illinois, dedicated to providing safe nighttime sleeping accommodations for homeless individuals. Established in 2018 by a coalition of community organizations including the Southern Illinois Coalition for the Homeless and Carbondale Interfaith Council, the center has grown from serving an average of 9 people per night to serving over 24 individuals nightly, including families. The organization operates on a mission centered on human dignity, safety, and survival, and relies primarily on community donations and volunteer support to maintain its operations.
