Founded in 1918 by Illinois Southern Baptists in response to children orphaned by World War I and the influenza epidemic, Baptist Children’s Home and Family Services is a nonprofit organization serving abused, abandoned, and neglected children and families across Illinois. Located in Carmi, Illinois, the organization operates residential care group homes for teens, outpatient counseling services through its Pathways program at multiple locations, maternity and adoption services, and foster care support, with a mission of providing Christ-centered services and family reconciliation. For over a century, BCHFS has been a cornerstone of community support in southern and central Illinois, helping children and families in crisis while strengthening communities across the state.
