Activities and Recreation Center

The Activities and Recreation Center (ARC), located at 201 East Peabody Drive in Champaign, is one of the country’s largest on-campus recreation centers at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, spanning 340,000 square feet. Originally opened in 1971 as the Intramural Physical Education Building, the facility was renovated and expanded, reopening in 2008 under its current name. The ARC offers comprehensive amenities including multiple gymnasiums, two 50-meter swimming pools, an indoor track, climbing wall, weight rooms, racquetball courts, and various multipurpose spaces available to university students, members, and guests.
