About

The Chabad Center for Jewish Life and Living at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, located at 209 E Armory Avenue in Champaign, was founded in 2003 by Rabbi Dovid and Goldie Tiechtel. The center serves as one of over 130 Chabad on Campus locations nationwide, providing Jewish services and programming for college students and the broader community. Since its establishment, the center has expanded significantly, opening a hospitality house in 2017 and moving into a 27,000-square-foot facility in 2023 that accommodates up to 300 guests for Shabbat and holiday celebrations, along with university-affiliated Jewish student housing and a kosher meal program.
