Food for Seniors
About
Food for Seniors is a program of the Helen Stevick Senior Center in Champaign that began in the 1980s with a grant from Hands Across America to address food insecurity among low-income seniors. The program, operated by dedicated RSVP volunteers, delivers bags of groceries to more than 220 seniors in the Champaign-Urbana area through a sustainable model funded entirely by local donations, with support from community partners like a local Masonic Lodge and the Eastern Illinois Food Bank.
