Blessing Box

The Coles County Blessing Box Project operates free blessing boxes throughout Charleston and Coles County, Illinois, providing 24-hour access to non-perishable food items, hygiene products, and other necessities for residents in need. Founded by Mattoon resident Janie Youhas, the volunteer-driven initiative follows a simple “leave what you can, take what you need” principle, offering anonymous support to individuals and families facing food insecurity in the community.
