Coppin Community Center

Coppin Community Center is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit social-service organization located at 5627 South Michigan Avenue in Chicago’s Washington Park neighborhood on the South Side. The organization operates from Coppin Memorial AME Church with a mission to develop youth, support adults, and transform the quality of life for all people, offering food and meal programs, youth initiatives, and family services. Staffed primarily by volunteers with minimal paid staff, the center distributes hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of free food annually to residents in the surrounding zip codes through its partnership with the Greater Chicago Food Depository.
