About
Feeding America is a nonprofit organization headquartered in Chicago, Illinois, that operates as a nationwide network of more than 200 food banks dedicated to fighting hunger in the United States. Since its founding in 1979, the organization has worked to feed America’s hungry through member food banks and engages communities in the fight to end hunger, providing food through pantries, soup kitchens, shelters, and other community-based agencies that serve more than 46 million people. Feeding America also supports over 50,000 charitable agencies operating various programs including after-school initiatives, emergency shelters, and Kids Cafes, while advocating for public policy changes to address food insecurity.
