Howard Area Community Center – Food Distribution Center
About
The Howard Area Community Center was established in 1967 in Chicago’s Rogers Park neighborhood as an outreach initiative of St. Jerome’s Church. Originally created to provide emergency food and clothing distribution to local residents, the organization has grown into a comprehensive nonprofit agency serving low-income individuals and families across multiple departments from birth through senior citizens. Today, the Food Distribution Center operates in partnership with the Greater Chicago Food Depository, providing free food pantry services to nearly 12,000 low-income families and individuals annually across the Rogers Park area and adjacent communities.
