Ignatian Mission Center, Ignatian Mission Center Food Pantry
About
The Ignatian Mission Center is an independent, volunteer-based nonprofit inspired by Catholic values that operates the Ignatian Mission Center Food Pantry on Chicago’s Far North Side. Originally founded in 1972 as part of St. Ignatius Parish, the food pantry reopened at its current location of 1735 W. Greenleaf Ave. on February 7, 2023, after the parish closed, and has since served more than 84,000 people in over 26,000 households. The organization provides free groceries to residents of Rogers Park, Edgewater and West Ridge, with plans to expand services to include counseling, legal aid and basic medical care in partnership with other community organizations.
