Nourishing Hope – El Mercadito Market

El Mercadito is a partnership between Nourishing Hope and La Casa Norte, nonprofit organizations serving Chicago residents in need of food assistance and social services. Located at 3533 West North Avenue in Humboldt Park, the food pantry opened in 2019 and was formerly known as the Fresh Market before being renamed to better reflect and serve the predominantly Latino community. El Mercadito provides nutritious groceries including fresh produce, dairy, and meat, alongside comprehensive social services such as benefits assistance, job search training, mental health counseling, and referral resources.
