St. Josephine Bakhita Food Distribution Center, operated by St. Josephine Bakhita Catholic Church in Chicago’s South Shore and Jeffrey Manor neighborhoods, provides essential food assistance and distributes groceries and fresh produce to individuals and families facing food insecurity. Operating every Tuesday and Wednesday, the center serves approximately 200-250 people weekly through its food pantry and clothing distribution services. As part of a Catholic parish formed from the consolidation of Our Lady Gate of Heaven, Our Lady of Peace, St. Bride, and St. Philip Neri churches, the center reflects the community’s commitment to addressing hunger and supporting residents during economic hardship.
