Westside Health Authority – Food Distribution Center

Westside Health Authority is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in 1988 that operates a food distribution center serving Chicago’s Austin neighborhood on the West Side. The organization provides hot meals every Thursday from 2:30 p.m. to 4 p.m., along with employment services, youth mentoring, criminal justice re-entry programs, and community health initiatives to approximately 22,000 residents. Beyond food distribution, Westside Health Authority has demonstrated deep community commitment through homeless outreach, partnerships with local healthcare institutions, and recent initiatives including a fresh grocery market development to address food deserts in the area.
