Decatur-Macon County Opperations

Decatur-Macon County Opportunities Corporation, now known as Empowerment Opportunity Center, is a nonprofit organization founded in 1965 and headquartered at 360 E Marietta Street in Decatur, Illinois. The organization serves as the local Community Action Agency, providing comprehensive services and assistance to low-income persons and families throughout Macon County, including job training and employment readiness programs, energy assistance through the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP), home weatherization services, Head Start early childhood education, senior nutrition programs, and emergency housing assistance. With a 60-year history of community involvement, the organization is dedicated to fostering self-sufficiency and helping individuals achieve economic stability and improved quality of life.
