Empowerment Opportunity Center

Founded in 1965 as the Decatur-Macon County Opportunities Corporation and renamed Empowerment Opportunity Center in 2021, this nonprofit organization serves low-income individuals and families in Decatur and Macon County. Located at 360 E. Marietta Street in Decatur, the organization provides comprehensive services including employment and job training programs, early childhood education through Anna Waters Head Start, energy assistance programs like LIHEAP and weatherization services, senior services, housing assistance, and the Empower Pantry for personal hygiene and household products.
