Self Help Closet and Pantry of Des Plaines

Self-Help Closet & Pantry of Des Plaines is an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that has served Des Plaines residents since 1971, providing free groceries, clothing, and personal care items to families and individuals facing financial hardship. The organization originated in the basement of First Congregational UCC and has evolved into a dedicated community resource currently serving approximately 400 Des Plaines families in need. Through donations and volunteer support, the pantry maintains its founders' mission to help neighbors access essential resources during times of difficulty.
