Macedonia Baptist Church of East Saint Louis

Macedonia Baptist Church of East St. Louis is the oldest African-American church in the region, having been organized in 1863 and incorporated under Illinois law the same year. Located at 10 South N.E. Owens Place in East St. Louis, IL, the church is dedicated to serving God and people of all generations through numerous ministries including women, men, deacon, music, and youth programs. Beyond spiritual services, the church actively supports the community by offering practical assistance such as job interview preparation and business attire for men in need, while maintaining membership in the Wood River Baptist Association, the Baptist General State Convention, and the National Baptist Convention.
