Well Child Center – Food Distribution Center

Well Child Center’s Food for Families program, located at 620 Wing Street in Elgin, operates as a nonprofit food distribution center providing nutrient-dense food and other essentials to area families through a client-choice pantry model. Established in 2022 in partnership with Food for Greater Elgin, the program serves the community alongside the center’s other services including pediatric dental care and administration of the federal WIC program. The Well Child Center itself was founded in 1972 to provide primary and preventive medical care to uninsured children and has grown to serve thousands of Elgin-area families through direct services and community resource referrals.
