River Bend Food Bank’s Galesburg Branch, located at 876 W Main Street, is a nonprofit regional warehouse hub serving eight counties across western Illinois and eastern Iowa. Opened in November 2022 after extensive renovation of the former Rheinschmidt’s Carpet Center, the facility operates nearly 18,000 square feet of warehouse space with 4,600 square feet of cooler and freezer storage for fresh produce, dairy, and frozen proteins, distributing food to over 300 partner pantries and meal sites across 23 counties. The branch co-locates with FISH of Galesburg food pantry and represents a critical community partnership to address food insecurity in the region, with capacity to distribute up to five million meals annually.
