Rooted for Good, formerly DeKalb County Community Gardens, is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization operating the Genoa Area Community Food Hub at 415 W. Main Street in Genoa, Illinois. The food hub opened in January 2020 and provides free groceries to residents with no documentation requirements through a grocery-style food pantry and mobile food pantry service throughout DeKalb County, serving approximately 150 households monthly. Beyond food assistance, Rooted for Good supports the community through a shared commercial kitchen space for culinary entrepreneurs, community gardens producing over 3,000 pounds of produce annually, and school gardening programs reaching 1,200 students.
