About
Herrin House of Hope is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) cooperative Christian ministry founded in 2013, serving the poor and needy in Herrin, Illinois and surrounding counties. Operating from 112 N. 14th Street in Herrin, the organization runs a soup kitchen that operates like a restaurant, a food pantry, a thrift store, and offers free GED classes and summer meal programs to address food insecurity with dignity. Since its founding, Herrin House of Hope has served approximately 450,000 meals, averaging 160 daily meals, and recently received a $20,000 Charitable Trust Grant from the Illinois State Treasurer’s Office as one of just ten nonprofits statewide selected for this honor.
