NIFB – Northern Illinois Food Bank – Green Oaks Center

Northern Illinois Food Bank’s Green Oaks Center in Lake Forest is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit distribution hub that collects, repackages, and distributes nutritious food to over 900 food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters, and feeding programs throughout 13 counties in Northern Illinois. Founded in 1983 by Sister Rosemarie Burian, the organization relocated its North Suburban Center to this Lake Forest facility in 2022, expanding capacity to serve more than 570,000 neighbors monthly with approximately 250,000 meals per day. The center operates with nearly 1,000 volunteers weekly and is part of the Feeding America network.
