St. Mary Church

St. Mary’s Catholic Church is a historic parish located at 303 S Division Street in North Utica, Illinois, established in 1675 when Father Jacques Marquette offered the first parochial Mass in the Illinois Country at this site. The church serves the Catholic faith community and offers regular masses on Saturday evenings and Sunday mornings, along with weekday services and sacramental programs including baptism, marriage preparation, and adult religious education through its RCIA program. As part of the Catholic Diocese of Peoria, St. Mary’s stands as one of the oldest continuously operating parishes in Illinois, with its brick and stone church building constructed in the 1870s on the site of the former Saint Mary School.
