St. Edmund Catholic Church

St. Edmund Roman Catholic Church, located at 188 South Oak Park Avenue in Oak Park, Illinois, is the oldest standing Catholic church in the village, having been established in 1907. The church features stunning English Gothic Revival architecture designed by Henry J. Schlacks, with distinctive stained-glass windows depicting scenes from the Gospels and a striking stainless-steel steeple topped with a Celtic cross. As part of the Archdiocese of Chicago, St. Edmund recently merged with Ascension Church to form Catholic Communities of Oak Park and Neighbors, serving as a vibrant Catholic community that offers daily mass and engages in various ministries and outreach programs.
