Plainfield Area Interfaith Food Pantry

The Plainfield Area Interfaith Food Pantry, located at 22525 W. Lockport Street in Plainfield, is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in 1990 following the devastating Plainfield tornado. The all-volunteer organization provides nutritious food assistance to families and individuals experiencing food insecurity within Plainfield School District 202 boundaries, distributing food to over 250 families monthly through a three-week cycle. Operated entirely by dedicated volunteers with no paid staff, the pantry remains committed to its founding mission of ensuring that no family in the area goes hungry.
