Ramsey Lake State Recreation Area

Ramsey Lake State Recreation Area is a 1,980-acre state park located one mile northwest of Ramsey in Fayette County, Illinois, and is managed by the Illinois Department of Natural Resources. The park centers on a 40-acre artificial reservoir created in 1947 and offers visitors a variety of outdoor recreational activities including fishing, hunting, boating, hiking, camping, and horseback riding, with 160 camping sites available year-round. Its rolling hills, timbered shoreline, and picturesque woods make it a popular destination for both relaxation and active outdoor recreation in central Illinois.
