About
Central Illinois Foodbank is a nonprofit organization established in 1982 by a coalition of churches, located at 1937 East Cook Street in Springfield, Illinois. Operating a 56,000 square foot distribution facility, the organization collects donated food and grocery items for distribution to nearly 150 food pantries, soup kitchens, residential programs, and after-school programs across 21 counties in central and southern Illinois, distributing over 9 million pounds of food annually. As a member of Feeding America and a United Way certified agency, Central Illinois Foodbank also operates the Kids Cafe program in partnership with Springfield Urban League, providing nutritious meals to children in safe environments.
