Fifth Street Renaissance

Fifth Street Renaissance is a Springfield-based nonprofit organization dedicated to providing transitional and permanent housing, health services, and comprehensive support to individuals and families facing homelessness and housing instability. Founded as Community Energy Systems in 1979 and expanding into transitional housing services in 1986, the organization merged with the Springfield AIDS Resource Association (SARA Center) in 2006, combining their missions to serve those experiencing homelessness, individuals living with HIV/AIDS, and vulnerable populations throughout central Illinois. Located at 1315 North 5th Street in Springfield, Fifth Street Renaissance offers job training, education support, health screenings, preventative services, and case management to help clients achieve self-sufficiency and independence.
