Voluntary Action Center – Food Distribution Center

The Voluntary Action Center of Northern Illinois, located at 1606 Bethany Road in Sycamore, is a nonprofit organization incorporated in 1974 that serves transportation and nutrition needs across DeKalb, Bureau, LaSalle, Kendall, and Putnam Counties. The organization operates Meals on Wheels, providing hot nutritional meals to elderly, disabled, and homebound individuals, along with community nutrition programs and TransVAC transportation services. VAC is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors and continues to address critical community needs including food security, social isolation, and access to healthcare through its comprehensive social services programs.
