The Wauconda/Island Lake Food Pantry is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in 1982 by volunteers from the Church of the Holy Apostles and community members dedicated to providing food assistance to families and individuals facing hardship. Located at 505 West Bonner Road in Wauconda, Illinois, behind the Township offices, the pantry serves residents within the D118 Wauconda School District, assisting an average of 270 families and over 700 individuals monthly. Operating as an independent organization with no government affiliation, the pantry is powered by a volunteer board of directors and over forty community volunteers who help provide nutritious food to those experiencing food insecurity during times of emergency or hardship.
