The UMMA Center Food Pantry

The UMMA Center Food Pantry, operated by the Urban Muslim Minority Alliance, opened in 2004 to serve low-income residents of Waukegan and the surrounding Lake County area. The food pantry distributes groceries twice weekly to families in need, with the organization receiving food at discount prices through a partnership with Northern Illinois Food Bank. Beyond food assistance, the UMMA Center offers comprehensive community support including GED classes, job training, tutoring, and financial literacy programs to help residents achieve self-sufficiency.
