Midwest Shelter for Homeless Veterans, Inc. is a nonprofit organization headquartered at 433 South Carlton Avenue in Wheaton, Illinois, dedicated to providing housing, supportive services, and community outreach to homeless and at-risk veterans and their families. Founded in 2007 by Vietnam War veteran Bob Adams and Gulf War veteran Dirk Enger, the organization offers a comprehensive range of services including transitional and permanent supportive housing, mental health services, case management, employment assistance, education programs, and community resources through initiatives like the Army Captain Kevin C. Landeck Freedom Commissary. With a mission to end veteran homelessness across a thirteen-county service area in northeast Illinois, MSHV serves more than 350 veteran households annually and is actively expanding its community impact through new permanent supportive housing developments.
