Free Little Pantry

Free Little Pantry was created by a nursing student in an accelerated BSN program at IU Columbus as a quality improvement project to address food insecurity among dialysis and chronic kidney disease patients at Major Nephrology. The pantry stocks nutritious, low-sodium and low-sugar items free of charge, with a focus on fresh fruits and vegetables tailored to patients' renal dietary needs. Recognizing the barriers faced by patients with disabilities, limited transportation, and health complications, the pantry provides convenient access to food that supports their specialized nutritional requirements.
